          Welcome to Creations Hair & Beauty Academy, St Leonards and thank you for visiting our website.

           

          Creations is leading the way in Hair and Beauty Education, in the South of England, devoted exclusively to the Hair and Beauty industry, with fully accredited and insured, bespoke short courses and workshops.

           

          We offer unique educational programmes covering all aspects of Hair and Beauty therapy including group and 1-to-1 courses.

           

          All courses are delivered by Creations Owner and experience hair and beauty professional; Laura Bates, who's teaching style is relaxed, informal and fun. Putting the most or least experienced student at ease immediately.

           

          Creations Hair and Beauty Academy's mission is to deliver industry-leading courses, through high quality, relevant, hair and beauty education.

          I’m Laura Bates, the face behind the Academy.


          Welcome.


          I am a fully qualified, experienced hairdresser, make-up artist, award-winning salon owner and a previous college lecturer.

          With 20 years industry experience.

          I have my Level 3 “AET” Award in Education and Training, and Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement. With a background of teaching in our wonderful colleges.


          I am now able to share my knowledge and wisdom to those who are starting a new career, or looking to improve their skills.

          I am personally accredited and insured and offer both bespoke short courses and workshops.


          I also offer CPD training to local Colleges and trade schools.

          Now, I cannot wait to meet you, as a new student and help you progress along your Hair and Beauty journey.

          KIDS HAIR WORKSHOP

          12-2PM SUNDAY - £30pp workshop for 4 adults.

          Are you useless at your kids hair?

          Are your children always envious of their friends fancy plaits and hair up’s?

           

          Then this is the workshop for you!

          We will cover:

          • Basic Brushing and knot busting
          • Detangling, use of detangling spray and the correct tools to use
          • Sectioning
          • Clipping Hair Up
          • Ponytails and Pigtails
          • Basic Plaiting
          • Accessories

          And if you’re feeling extra clever, we can be more advanced.

           

          Hair kit included. This workshop is open to anyone. You may bring your child as a model or use the tuition heads supplied.

          Bridal Hair- Short Course

          Monday 10-4pm - £175 for 1-2-1 training - £125pp groups of 4

          I have worked in the Hair and Beauty Industry for nearly 20 years. Working with 100’s of bridal parties over the years. There’s not much that I haven’t encountered, from a highly-strung maid of honour, a nervous bride or a weeping mother.

           

          I’m at a stage in my career where i’d love to pass on my knowledge, skills and trade secrets. The little nuggets of gold they don’t teach you at college, and tips I’ve spent my career collecting.

           

          My teaching style is relaxed, informal and fun.

          I encourage you to ask lots of questions, take pictures, experiment with ideas and techniques.

           

          My aim is to increase your confidence, make you a more efficient and effective event hair stylist. We know hair-up can be a love it or hate it service.

          Included in this short course, we will cover:

           

          • Techniques in line with the current trends and fashions
          • Hair prep
          • Plaiting – French, Dutch, Fishtail, Waterfall
          • Half up do’s
          • Chignon shapes
          • Curls, Which tools to use
          • Application of clip in hair extensions
          • Application of hair ornaments.

           

          This one-day workshop is perfect for hairstylist with some experience looking to develop their skills and techniques. You’ll learn lots of tips to stay ahead of your competition.

           

          Half an hour lunch. Tea, coffee, water, squash supplied.

           

          Groups of 4 must be arranged by yourselves. Full payment required to secure your booking.
